Hindu, Hindutva and Hindutvavaadi

It is an interesting discussion sparked by a “so called” youth leader in India while addressing masses in Jaipur. During his speech he mentioned that we need to force “Hindutvavaadi” out of the country. Now, this is where the reflection of utter chaos of mindset reflects. Neither the writer fo the speech nor the person delivering the speech gave a second thought to the whole aspect. And then there was another round of bifurcation by moving into linguistic play and introducing another term Hinduism by the so call experts on Hindus.

While I took the liberty to quote one of the latest episodes from India where the Hindus were once again being demonized, it needs to be nothed that Hindus or what we should originally call them as Sanatan Dharm followers or Sanatanis are the oldest and continuous thriving masses in the Indian Subcontinent. Though originally they were the inhabitats of most of the Land Mass from Far East to Middle East (as evident form the excavations that yield Sanatan Deity’s idols), they are now confined mostly to South Asia specifically India, Nepal and Bhutan. For most part the Hindus have been iether butchered or converted to alternate religions by either the tyrants or the evangelists. We all witnessed the away Afghanistan went down and the way Hindus are being treated in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

So, why did that happen? or why did we see the decline (most will try to disagree) of Sanatan Dharm or Hindus to bring them to this sorry state of affairs? Simple and straight forward answer to that is the way Sanatan Dharm was translated to Hindu and then the essence of Hindutva was separated from the followers of Sanatan/Hindu Dharm. This was a long drawn process that started with Emperor Ashok converting to Bodhh Dharm (controversial but true to the core). Over a period of centuries, the modus operandi changed and the conversion was forced more with cruelty than persuassion.

So, What is it that the target has been to Derive Hindu and then segregate Hindutva and Hindutvavaadi? The aspect is very complex to actually understand, but the main aspect is to have more Geo-Political advantage for others as if we see only the Sanatan/Hindu Dharm stood strong through the testing times and was able to have that niche created for itself through the touch times. Though the numbers declined and the religion is now much restricted to Indian Origins (or for the most part), it was because of the Hindutva that they stood strong. Be it Cholas, Chalukas, Ahoms, Maharaja Prithviraj, Rana Sanga, Maharana Pratap or Chhatrapati Shivaji, all of them called for Hindutva to be more organized and be the valiant force behind safety of Hindus. They all can also be called as the Hindutvavaadi Kings or Rulers who lived for and fought for the Bhagwa Dhwaj (or parcham).

For Definition Purpose, Hindu (or Hinduism in English reference) is the religion stemming from Sanatan culture as there were a few offshoot religions like Bodhh and Jain from it. Hindutva is the feeling or the state of being a Hindu that comproses of actions, followership and Cultural heritage of traditions and practices being adopted and continued by the followers of Sanatan/Hindu Dharma. Hindutvavadi would be the set of people who would promote the Practices, Culture, Traditions and Actions of Sanatan/Hindu Dharm. Thus Hindu, Hindutva and Hindutvavaadi are inter-related and closely knit in the whole religious framekwork.

So, now the big question is why do they want to separate Hindus from Hindutva and Hindutvavaadi? To understand this cause and effect relationship, we will have to date back to mid to late 1800s post the first war of Independence by India in 1857. We would ahve to look at the history to see the reason why Congress was established then by whom and where (we will deal with it in separate article and forum). But that is from where the modern slow poisoning of Hindus started that later was confirmed with the way someone got planted in Congress in early 1900s and who is said to have led the Freedom struggle till 1947 (another controversial topic). But when we evaluate what and where it happened to the point that post Independence when India was NOT identified as Secular state, we saw the change in late 1970s to have that word inducted in Indian Constitution. This is the same time that Chand Miyaan was labelled as Sai Baba and was introduced as a Hindu Deity. Very Interesting twist in 1970s. This is the time when the final round of Slow Poisoning of Hindus started and they were devoid of Hindutva by demeaning Hindus and Hindutva. This practice forced through a silent change in hands of academicians to Communists and a re-written History of India to marginalize the Hindutvavaadi Kings and Heros. Mughals were glorified, Akbar and Aurangjeb were identified as Secular Rulers who would treat all as equal even though they were to levy Jazia on non-Muslims aka Kafirs aka Sanatani/Hindus. Though Aurangzeb would force conversion or chose death for the Hindus and would be wieghed against the Janeus post conversion or death of Hindus, yet he was glrofied and that’s what we were tought. Thus marginalizing Hindutva and Hindutvavaadi is not a new concept to demean Hindus.

In the present days, as we see more support and voices from Hindus for Equal Rights for Hindus, Uniform Civil Code, deregulate Hindu Temples from Government control etc, those who had worked towards and those who are working towards enhancing the gap between Hindus and Hindutvavaadi are getting troubled. They are seeing it as the rise of Hindus and Hindutva that would certainly bring the course corrections for the History and bring out the Historical Truth like –

  1. Maharana Pratap winning over 32 Forts from Akbar and keeping the Mughal Army out of Mewar
  2. Chhatrapati Shivaji and the Maratha Warriors winnig over most of Mughal region from the Mughals and restraining the Mughals to or around Delhi only
  3. Ahoms defeating Aurangzeb’s army and pushing them back to the extent that Mughals never daed to step in Eastern Areas of India
  4. Partition of India that is said to be in 1947 only, while from late 1800s to 1947, India was partitioned time and again by the British East India Company
  5. And Many more

What is expected from us and what we the Sanatan followers need to do – Treat such statements by Woke Hindus and other with Communist Mindset at a bay and we should focus on rebuilding our Strength by exhibiting Hindutva in our life. Be a voice of Hindutva and be Hindutvavaadi to be united by the word Sanatan rather than calling ourselves by caste or creed. We are Sanatanis and we are the Hindus to follow Hinductva and be Hindutvavaadi. If each one of us would wear Bhagwa in our mind and heart to be Hindutavaadi, how would anyone be able to separate us from ourselve.

If Hindu is our religion, Hindutva is our identity and Hindutvavaadi is our Conscious. You can’t separate your identity and conscious from yourself!!!!
